What Is the Sphinx Arc? Synopsis and Best Scenes Summary | When & Which Manga Volume [Chiikawa]

The story begins with Hachiware reading a book about ancient Egypt and Chiikawa peering at an illustration of a Sphinx. They notice it seems to be something related to cats, and Hachiware presses both front paws together against the floor, lying down in the same pose as the illustration. Before long, a large Sphinx appears before them, and as the two approach, the Sphinx raises its upper body and walks over to their side.

Even after the encounter with the Sphinx, Chiikawa and Hachiware play sushi restaurant, Hachiware plays a small stringed instrument and sings, and they compare cards from a card vending machine. The sushi plate that Hachiware catches falls apart when he turns around, but the two transfer the contents to a bowl, pour hot water over them, and switch to a different way of eating.

Usagi also appears before the two, running in with a loud voice.
