Story guide

Chiikawa and Hachiware are given long-handled tools with gripping ends and head into the grass to work. Rakko asks how long they intend to keep practicing and takes it to mean they have not finished yet. When Chiikawa grips and pulls a leaf with the tool, a round, very furry figure appears from the grass. While Rakko is puzzled, Chiikawa continues moving the leaves with the tool, and Hachiware watches nearby.

Story guide

In a forest clearing, Chiikawa and Hachiware are doing special training, swinging their weapons in front of Rakko. When Rakko notices the sound and turns around, Usagi appears carrying a long, thin pole on their shoulder. An arrow-attached note on the pole indicates that it is a giant stick candy. Rakko's mouth softens, and when Usagi swings the pole, Rakko catches the tip in their mouth and suggests that they should train together after all. Rakko then begins gnawing on the pole, and Hachiware calls out, asking if they came to show off. At the end, Usagi holds the now-shortened pole, and Rakko is shown noisily crunching it.

Story guide

Beside Shisa, Hachiware shows a small ornament on their head and considers the origin of its design. Connecting the cat-like face drawn on the ornament with a figure that seems to combine several animals, Hachiware suggests it may have a complicated origin. Nearby are figures with similar triangular ears or different outlines, and someone also suggests that Usagi's nose resembles them. The scene ends with Usagi taking in that observation.

Story guide

Rakko tells Chiikawa and Hachiware that they must be tired from special training and may choose whatever sweets they like, and the three enter a supermarket. Inside, Hachiware and Chiikawa move along looking at the products, while Rakko seems to lose sight of them and searches between the shelves. Hachiware also wonders where their teacher is and thinks the sweets aisle is like a maze. Eventually they find one another, and Rakko appears before the two holding drinks.
