The story begins when Hachiware finds a scary story page on a computer screen and tries to convey its contents to Chiikawa. After encountering unsettling images and black text, the two find themselves still bothered by presences behind them even after looking away from the screen, enveloped in a strange atmosphere that cannot be dismissed as mere reading material. Even the corners of the room and the empty spaces where their gaze wanders evoke the unease of ghost stories, depicting small, quietly emerging cracks in everyday life.

Walking down a dark road, Hachiware becomes conscious of presences behind and beneath them, and Chiikawa notices that something is different from usual. The two draw closer to each other and confirm that they are sensing the same presence. To distract from the fear, Hachiware hums a catchy song with food names. Beyond the window, black ear-like shapes change in number and position, and as drum-like sounds continue, Chiikawa and Hachiware ready their forked tools.

Then Usagi appears, wearing a strange glove-like object. Chiikawa and Hachiware are startled, and Hachiware wonders where it came from, but Usagi swings and tosses the object around. The shape of the fingers and the shadow it casts on the wall make it seem as though what they feared earlier has materialized as a concrete possession, though it is never confirmed whether it is the same thing.
