What is the Black Meteor Arc? Synopsis and Best Scenes Summary | When & Which Manga Volume [Chiikawa]

While Chiikawa and Hachiware are eating pancakes baked from pancake mix mixed with water, Hachiware brings up the rumor of the "Black Meteor". The story goes that although it grants wishes, it apparently leaves you with an unpleasant feeling. Later, when taking a photo, Usagi appears wildly blurred, and near the pink alarm clock, the sense of incongruity grows stronger, as if what appears on the camera does not match what is right in front of them.

Eventually, the "Black Star" appears from the alarm clock by Chiikawa's bed, and they realize they are trapped in a time loop where the same day repeats over and over. When Chiikawa confesses this fact to Hachiware and Usagi, Hachiware puts it into words: "If we stay like this, our future will disappear," and the three of them run off together toward the Black Star.

The three ask the Black Star to stop the repeating time, and Usagi takes out a hammer and swings it down on the pink alarm clock. Chiikawa enters a shop with an "Internet" sign and types "Black Meteor" into the search box. The scary story page that opens says that the wish was granted but left them with an unpleasant feeling, and Chiikawa stares at the screen with a clouded expression.
