UsagiHachiware

Story guide

Usagi opens a box of donuts and shows Hachiware a sweet shaped like the halo above their head. Hachiware notices that the box cannot close and thinks Usagi may be paying attention to the halo's size. The two line up ring-shaped sweets and inspect a donut with sugar-grain-like pieces on it. Hachiware is a little concerned about what will happen when it is eaten, but Usagi is happy without dwelling on it. The attempt to find a replacement for the halo turns into choosing donuts.

HachiwareUsaginagano's bearlarge dog

Story guide

Looking at the donuts, Hachiware thinks it may be best to replace the halo above Usagi's head soon. Usagi approaches with a donut, but Hachiware realizes that they have not tasted it yet. The two talk about the sweetness of the cream and place two-colored donuts on the head of the winged creature in the container. Seeing it, Hachiware is surprised by how striking its smile is, and Usagi reacts strongly. The post shows a change that food brings about in the creature.

UsagiHachiware

Story guide

Hachiware says it might have strayed too far from the likeness of an angel's halo, comparing the halo resting on Usagi's head. They remark that it is simpler than the previous one, and beside Usagi wearing the halo, they add that it feels refreshing and light. Even so, they think that one which actually goes into the mouth and leaves behind sweetness has more of that "likeness," so they open a box of donuts to compare the contents and lift a sugar-raised donut with both hands. Muttering "more," they walk across the grass with the donut in hand. In the following scene, Usagi wearing the halo laughs while glowing, and Hachiware says there must be a different kind of kindness. Finally, Hachiware places the donut on top of a stone statue, ending with them wishing that things will somehow work out.

Story guide

At a small shrine in the grass, Hachiware finds a small statue with a ring above its head and takes it for something angelic. When Usagi jumps beneath the ring, it seems to settle around their head. Immediately afterward, Usagi's body becomes rounder and larger, leaving Hachiware confused and worried about them. Touching the statue's ring is presented as the trigger for the change in the two of them.

HachiwareUsagi

Story guide

After the ring above Usagi's head disappears, Hachiware asks whether they remember the decoration the two made before. Usagi takes out a wrapped item and a note, then puts a pale-colored decoration above one ear. Hachiware connects it with the missing angelic ring, and Usagi vigorously moves their ears as if trying to raise the ring again. The two continue testing whether they can restore it using the decoration they have.

Chiikawa has their eyes closed, their mouth slightly open, and one foot forward, but there are no speech bubbles, companions, props, or background to establish a scene. Momonga

Story guide

Momonga shows off colorful braces attached to their teeth and complains about the pain, wanting them removed as soon as possible. A heart-shaped inset gives a large view of their mouth with the appliance, while Momonga gestures with clear dissatisfaction. Roman-letter text at the top and bottom reinforces the wish to be free of the pain. It is a single, message-like illustration centered directly on discomfort from orthodontic treatment.

Cultural and language noteOrthodontic treatment uses fixed appliances on the teeth to correct alignment. In this image, the pain from the appliance is the central subject.

Chiikawa

Story guide

Chiikawa arrives at the Weeding Certification venue and finds a sign saying that examinees can take the test and learn the result right away. They choose a Level Five tag and complete the procedure at the counter. While a sign indicates that grading is in progress, Chiikawa anxiously looks over the paper in their hands. The grader continues writing on the answer sheet, and Chiikawa's result is not yet shown. The post follows Chiikawa's decision to take the test and the tension of waiting for the result.

Cultural and language noteA certification test measures skills or knowledge. Here, the Weeding Certification is presented as a system in which the result is available immediately after taking the exam.

ChiikawaYoroi-san (Armor Knight)

Story guide

Chiikawa waits while looking up at a gray-bodied figure, then bows and accepts a practice-exam bag marked with a green crown. The figure uses a diagram to show that the assessment sheet will come out of an envelope inside the bag, and Chiikawa nods. Clutching the bag, Chiikawa runs to a stump, stops, takes a deep breath to steel themself, and tears the seal open. The sheet inside gives an E rating and says that passing will be very difficult. After an involuntary sound escapes, Chiikawa lets out a great scream atop the stump.

Cultural and language noteIn a graded scale such as A through E, later letters can generally indicate lower evaluations. In the image, the E rating is presented as a result far from passing.

ChiikawaFuruhonya

Story guide

Chiikawa stays confined in their round-roofed house, continuously sharpening a pencil in front of a low desk. On the desk sits what looks like a certification book with a green crown on its cover. As the scratchy sound continues, a pencil sharpener filled with shavings and Chiikawa's face are shown up close. On the floor beside the desk are a paper bag with a green crown and the characters for mock exam, and a bear pochette (shoulder bag). Eventually, a clinking sound is heard from their hand, and Chiikawa leaves the desk. They let out a small groan, and the story ends without them opening the book.

ChiikawaHachiwareUsagi

Story guide

Hachiware and Usagi visit Chiikawa while they are preparing for the certification. Hachiware presents a patterned, bracelet-like good-luck charm that the two made together. They fasten it around Chiikawa's wrist and put their wish for Chiikawa to pass into it. Usagi is also shown preparing materials, making clear that the two created the item to support Chiikawa's test.

Cultural and language noteA good-luck charm is a small item carried to hold a wish or a prayer for safety. Here, it is given with the hope that Chiikawa will pass.

ChiikawaHachiwareUsagi

Story guide

Chiikawa suddenly turns their back, prompting Hachiware and Usagi to ask what is wrong. When Chiikawa confesses in a small voice, Hachiware confirms whether it is about the test that shows whether they can pass, and asks further if taking it yields results. As Chiikawa conveys the result in an even smaller voice, Hachiware's eyes widen in surprise, taking it as a good judgment and rejoicing. However, when Chiikawa lets out a bewildered voice, Hachiware trembles and asks if it is actually bad. Chiikawa's voice is only depicted as mumbling, and it ends without revealing the actual content of the judgment.

ChiikawaUsagiHachiware

Story guide

Facing the results of the mock exam, Hachiware reads out an E judgment, while Chiikawa sniffles and cries. Hachiware encourages Chiikawa by saying they do not need to worry about the 'a little, quite' comment, and then considerately asks if their hard-working heart had snapped. When Usagi picks up the booklet of questions and answers, Hachiware confirms if this is it, and Chiikawa gives a small nod. Hachiware tries to stop them, saying Chiikawa mentioned not wanting to see it anymore, but Usagi opens the booklet and raises their voice, ending right at the moment a surprised exclamation is heard.

ChiikawaHachiwareUsagi

Story guide

Chiikawa is alone, sniffing and crying, while Usagi and Hachiware watch the situation nearby. When the two peek at the answer sheet and raise their voices in surprise, Chiikawa also turns to face them and lets slip that it is true. There, Hachiware suggests that the answers might have been written shifted out of the answer spaces, and tracing with their finger to show 'from here,' causes an involuntary gasp. Eventually, a notice is conveyed that they will regrade the test on the premise that there was no shifting. Beside Usagi, who is running their pen across the paper, Chiikawa clenches their hands and waits for the result with a pounding heart.

April 15, 2025
ChiikawaHachiwareUsagi

Story guide

Usagi holds the answer sheet and shows the E rating to Chiikawa and Hachiware. When told that a B rating should be certain if the answers had not been shifted into the wrong boxes, Usagi adds a line to the E on the paper and turns it into a B. Chiikawa is delighted at the thought of passing, while Hachiware urges them to check carefully in the real test. The post depicts Usagi's simple solution, in which changing the letter appears to change the result.

ChiikawaUsagiHachiwareChiikabu (the Beetle)

Story guide

Rakko

Story guide

Rakko appears in the middle of a white background beside large characters referring to a bath and an exclamation mark. They hold what looks like a white cloth, with the star-shaped marking on their head and their cheeks visible. There is no dialogue, companion, or explanation of a setting, so the post conveys only a short feeling about bathing. No sequence of specific events is shown; it ends as a simple insert illustration using Rakko.

Cultural and language noteThe Japanese word furo can refer both to a place for bathing and to bathing itself. In the image, it serves as a brief theme that evokes a bath.

April 26, 2025
RakkoMomonga

Story guide

Rakko stands in the center holding a towel, surrounded by several images of Momonga and symbols of a steaming bath. The text refers to bathing, washing, and a pungent smell, summing up an exchange in which Momonga urges Rakko to take a bath. Rather than a manga scene that unfolds continuously, the image arranges moments from the same topic like a collage. Bathing and smell are the central topics that can be confirmed in this post.

April 28, 2025
MomongaRakko

Story guide

Momonga tries to check the bath scent coming from Rakko, but also notices coldness and the smell of something that has dried poorly. When Momonga suggests it might be an unwashed tail, Rakko proposes going to the bath. Rakko adds that they smell the same way after getting wet in the rain, and the conversation turns toward bathing. A discussion of the source of the smell becomes a proposal to go take a bath.

Cultural and language noteA damp-drying odor is the smell noticed when wet clothes or a body do not dry thoroughly. Here, it is discussed in contrast with the scent of a bath.

April 29, 2025
MomongaRakko

Story guide

At the bathhouse, Rakko tells Momonga to wash themself and works soap suds into their body. Momonga ends up covered in a great deal of foam and enjoys the foam itself, while Rakko takes this as Momonga taking advantage of their kindness. When Momonga shakes off the foam, their dirty appearance is revealed, emphasizing the contrast with another foam-covered look. Momonga's tendency to play with the suds rather than wash themself drives the exchange during the bath.

HachiwareRakkoChiikawa

Story guide

In a wood-paneled room, a pair that includes Rakko is sweating. One says they do not want to stay there, while the other says that a cold bath comes afterward. Near the door, there is also a remark that there is nothing to imitate. In the latter half, small dark-colored creatures gather in the bathing area as the pair faces them. This image alone does not explain who imitated what.

Cultural and language noteA cold bath is a tub of cold water, often used after hot water or a sauna. It appears in the conversation here as what comes afterward.

HachiwareChiikawaKurimanju

Story guide

This is a product announcement centered on princess costumes for Chiikawa and Hachiware, with Kurimanju in a prince-like outfit. A small fragment of dialogue between the characters appears in the image, but the lower section announces sales at a shop and mentions decorative glass-bead straps and glass slippers. Rather than advancing the story, the post is complete as a costume visual with Happy Birthday decorations and sales information.

Cultural and language noteThe decorative glass beads mentioned here are made by melting glass and applying patterns. In the image, they are presented as ornaments for straps.

MomongaRakko

Story guide

After a bath, Rakko explains to Momonga that air-drying makes their fur fluffier than using a hair dryer. Momonga tries to dry themself by shaking while still wet, but it does not work well. The two try drying while sitting down, and Momonga finally picks up a hair dryer. The scene turns on Momonga choosing a different action from the advice they were given about becoming fluffy.

Cultural and language noteAir-drying means letting something dry by exposure to the air rather than using a hair dryer. Here, it is used to compare ways of drying.

RakkoHachiware

Story guide

Rakko begins by saying they had some hubris, and, playing on those words, offers to treat them to ice cream. When they arrive at the ice cream section, Momonga looks into the freezer case and says 'all of them,' but Rakko insists on 'one.' After wavering over which to choose, Rakko rummages through the case, grabs a red Parlm bag, and decides on it with an 'All right.' Watching this, Momonga presses to be allowed to imitate the action, leaving Rakko bewildered with an 'Ehh?' In the final panel, Momonga also picks up the same red Parlm, says 'All right,' and it ends with Rakko's eyes widening.

RakkoMomonga

Story guide

After leaving the bath, Rakko and Momonga share an ice cream bar that appears to be chocolate-flavored. When one says the other has smelled good lately, the other acts as though they have just noticed that they have a scent too. While eating the cold treat, they talk about smell and a moist texture. By the end, they conclude that the scent of a warm breeze is actually a soapy smell. The subject of smells after bathing continues into the scene of sharing ice cream.

Momonga

Story guide

Momonga sees small dark-colored creatures crying and begins shedding tears in the same way. They go on to imitate the shape and movement of the creatures' hands, and those around them take the imitation as very similar. Momonga starts to feel that this behavior may have been their own from the beginning, while the original creatures move away. The post shows Momonga copying another's reaction and confusing it with their own way of being.
