What Is the Angel and Jizo Arc? Synopsis and Best Scenes Summary | When & Which Manga Volume [Chiikawa]
Overview
Synopsis
A small statue standing in a shrine in the meadow, bearing a halo above its head—the 'Angel Jizo.' The commotion begins when Usagi leaps under that halo.
The halo seemed to settle around Usagi's head, but then Usagi's body became round and large, and before long the halo vanished altogether. Hachiware, though bewildered, checks in with 'Are you okay?' and tries various things revolving around Usagi's head—placing a decoration the two had made together above Usagi's ear, picking a box full of donuts that could serve as a 'replacement for the halo.' The trial and error continues. The earnestness of Hachiware lifting a sugar-raised donut and murmuring 'more,' contrasted with Usagi's boldness of being unfazed no matter what happens, is the defining flavor of the Angel and Jizo Arc.
Eventually the donuts are delivered to Chiikawa's house, and with the small presence above the head and the sweet treats blending together, the exchange among the three melts back into their everyday life.
