At the announcement for the Subjugation rankings, Chiikawa and Hachiware see top-ranked participants being introduced beyond the crowd. The two are too small to get a good view, so Hachiware searches for a gap among the people. They eventually spot a large back passing through the venue and tell Chiikawa about the ranking system they have just heard. Those who place fourth or higher in Subjugation results can have a mark modeled on their own face added to a weapon. Hachiware imagines holding a weapon with that mark and hopes to have one someday. After the top-ranked person leaves, the two share their excitement as they watch the flags and crowd.

While sharing fruit in a field, Hachiware asks Chiikawa and Usagi whether they should try a Subjugation against an opponent bigger than usual. Chiikawa hesitates, thinking of the danger, while Usagi bites into the fruit with force as they listen. Something hard strikes their teeth, and a red object like a push button on a base comes out. The three interrupt their Subjugation discussion and gather around to examine the unexplained thing that had been hidden in the food. Hachiware thinks it may be a switch, and the scene ends before they decide what to do next.

Hachiware and Chiikawa use a capsule-toy machine hoping for the secret version, turning it once each and receiving blue and yellow capsules. Without being able to see inside, they shake them to check the sound and open both lids at the same time with shared anticipation. Each contains a golden figure wearing a hat and playing an instrument. Realizing that both drew the special version they wanted, they set the figures side by side in their palms and compare the details with excited cries. The chance of pulling the same secret from one machine in succession becomes a small stroke of luck they share together.

Hachiware shows Chiikawa a bottle of ginger ale and says that it tastes like the alcoholic drinks they imagine. The two pour it into small cups, make a toast, and enjoy their matching post-drink exhalations when Kurimanju passes by carrying a can and snacks. Kurimanju sits down, tips the can, and lets out a forceful breath. Chiikawa and Hachiware watch the assured way Kurimanju drinks, comparing it with their own play-acting as they eat snacks. A manner that feels more like the real thing joins their childlike imitation of a drinking party, and the three end up sharing a table.

While walking, Chiikawa and Hachiware spot a small car with flower decorations approaching. Rakko is in the driver's seat, and Hachiware remembers that Rakko was the person who had been singing before, so both look on with shining eyes. Rakko notices them too, stops the car, and asks what they are doing. Learning that they have no particular destination, Rakko invites them to ride along. The two look at one another at the sudden offer, then happily come closer. Rakko's car drives off with all three, beginning a drive from a chance encounter.

Walking across the grass, Chiikawa notices a savory smell and stops to search for where it comes from. At its source, Kurimanju slowly grills shiitake mushrooms in a frying pan over a small fire. When they are done, Kurimanju shaves rock salt over them and pours a canned drink into a cup. Kurimanju lifts a hot mushroom on a skewer, takes a bite, then drinks and lets out a long satisfied breath. From a short distance away, Chiikawa quietly watches the whole practiced sequence and shares even the outdoor aroma.

When Yoroi-san (Armor Knight) shows new pajamas they have made, they receive responses from people around them saying that they want them. In a sales-like setting, Yoroi-san is surprised before the items and takes in the interest gathering around the clothes they created. Following the earlier flow in which small figures wore the outfits and gave their impressions, the scene shows that the handiwork is beginning to spread beyond their own circle. Yoroi-san does not decide to make them in large quantities or describe a plan to expand a shop. It stays with the moment of realizing that the requests and the items at hand mean the pajamas have become popular. Yoroi-san’s response shows the happiness of a small hobby reaching those around them.

Hachiware asks Chiikawa if they know about the town of sweets. When Chiikawa shakes their head, Hachiware invites them to go right now, and Chiikawa lets out a murmur while picturing a town made of sweets. The place they arrive at is a shop with a red signboard; Hachiware indicates this is the place, and the two enter the store, which is lined with shelves. Hachiware explains the spacing in the store's name and finds it amusing, but Chiikawa asks back, unable to grasp the point. Hachiware runs off, saying they want to show something, picks up a long, thin sweet with connected pieces, and suggests they buy this. It ends as Chiikawa raises a cheer.

Momonga wears a flower-like decoration on their head and asks those around them how they look. From the front, the decoration makes the strongest impression, but when Momonga turns around, their blue tail is visible from behind, and someone nearby notices the reaction of the person there as well. Momonga hurriedly tries to keep others from looking behind them, and the humor comes from the gap between the cuteness they wanted the question to bring out and the part that unexpectedly draws attention. Petals, a close-up of their face, and the tail peeking out support the short progression of Momonga's self-presentation gradually coming apart.

Chiikawa, Hachiware, and Usagi rise into the air on head-mounted rotors, carrying tools that appear to be for Subjugation. They descend toward a large target on the ground and begin moving while facing the same direction. After returning to the ground, Hachiware takes the experience as a large Subjugation, and Chiikawa also feels the weight of having been there together. Their small bodies in the air, the spinning rotors, and the ground spread below convey a height and tension unlike an ordinary walk. Usagi's energetic figure adds to the image of the three preparing for and taking on a challenge.

Usagi lets out a cry and hops away through the grass, and the two remark that they were startled. Finally, Hachiware invites Chiikawa to make one more, mixing in different flowers, and Chiikawa nods.

Hachiware finds a page of scary stories on a screen and tries to tell Chiikawa about what it says. Before the screen's black text and ominous pictures, the two are left with a feeling that does not seem easy to dismiss as ordinary reading. Hachiware worries about behind and around them, and Chiikawa, while still in the same place, also directs attention beyond the screen. The computer frame, dark-colored heading, and the pair's small silence visually support the unease left after reading a ghost story. What happens goes only as far as the two feeling a sense of wrongness; it does not explain what lies outside the screen.
